"Scuttlebutt" is the house journal of the Friends of the Royal Naval Museum and HMS Victory. The museum was founded one hundred years ago in 1911 and the Society of Friends was established thirty-five years ago in 1976. The Royal Patron is HRH Prince Charles and the President is Lord Judd. The magazine is normally produced twice a year and is now up to its 57th edition.
This October sees the launch of our Special Victory edition of Scuttlebutt. Which includes features on “The War at Sea 2018”, Submarine Warfare, development of the aircraft carrier, the history of the torpedo, global research of the Royal Navy plus many more feature and regular articles.
The Friends have a membership of over 800 but the magazine also goes Navy wide to encourage members of the Naval Service to join and support the National Museum of the Royal Navy. There are many retired naval people in the Portsmouth area that read the magazine. Copies are also available onboard HMS Victory, which is a famous national and international attraction visited by many thousands every year.

Circulation is now 5,000 members Museum Friends, Royal Navy wide, dockyard industries, Portsmouth and local area groups, yachting etc. A4 with over 100 pages including inside back cover.
